Well, Hello There

About 2

Hi there, my friend.

I’m Dave, a Wandering Canuck, early retiree from careers as a military officer and health care executive, and now a full-time traveler.

Full-time travel and retirement are largely selfish things; at least they feel selfish given my long-time service to Canada and its people.

It’s not easy to just wander away without continuing to support people who are ready to make a change in their lives, for the betterment of themselves, their families, or their communities.

To that end, my hope with this blog is to provide you with some practical ideas for feeding your spirit and making at least one small change in your life that makes you happier and smile more frequently.

There are myriad pressures placed on you by advertising, and by family and others, telling you what will make you happy – job, house, security, possessions. But you do not need to live your life like others expect of you.
You need to write your own story. And if you absolve yourself of that responsibility, others will certainly write it for you, and you may not like how the book reads.

Wherever you are in your life right now, you have an opportunity to create the future self you desire. And if exploring or some other passion is burning within you, I recommend you find a way to satisfy it.

I hope this blog inspires you, and motivates you to turn off the television, pack away the video games, ditch the shopping malls, shelve the social media for a while, and spend less time at the office, so that you can focus on living a meaningful life, a life filled with rewarding experiences and adventures.

Slow Living 3I encourage you to create an adventure for yourself. Or a project. Anything at all. Anything that will take you a little bit outside of your comfort zone. Anything that will help you grow. Anything that you find daring and exciting.

I’ve got my pompoms out and I’m ready to cheer you on.

If you have questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at DaveGutscher [at] gmail [dot] com.

Live boldly.

Hope to see you along the trail.
